Over twelve months and across the seasons, I documented the southern regional parks for Auckland Council, Waitawa, Duder, Ōmana, Tapapakanga, Orere Point, Tawhitokino, Hunua Ranges and Whankanepha. The brief was a photo library for maps, brochures and web, but the real work was finding the character of each place, in its light, its weather, its quieter moments.

What made it exceptional was the people. Horse riders, walking groups, families, fathers with kids, photographed as I found them, doing what they actually do there.
